In this 3-hour masterclass, featuring John Stokes, Founder of the Tracking Project, in Corrales, New Mexico we'll deep-dive into the art & science of Tracking. For 45 years, John has taught the art and science of hard-ground tracking, and its application to the tracking of Self (meditation, self-awareness, dreams), and Others (relatives human and otherwise). Within the Restorative Practices framework, tracking is a metativity: a metaphor, an activity, and a meditation, and the tracker’s view is applicable to all facets of our lives. Tracking relies on applied ecological knowledge of place, develops non-cognitive ways of knowing, helps us wear the Good Mind. John was trained by aboriginal Australian trackers, and has worked closely with the Haudenosaunee, with whom he produced a beautiful version of their tradition Thanksgiving Address: Greetings to the Natural World Ohén:ton Karihwatéhkwen: Words Before All Else, which will be our text for this class.
