LOGISTICS: This is a LIVE FACE-TO-FACE training that will be held in Northern California at our eco-reserve near Nicasio, California. Logistics including what to wear and where to gather will be emailed to you one week in advance of the training. The location is about 20 minutes from San Rafael, California. We will follow COVID safety protocols, yet will be outside at all times. The training is capped at twelve participants, plus the instructor.
ABOUT: This connection daylong will focus on the art and science of connection as the foundation of wellbeing. Our trans-disciplinary research and practice, over 15 years, has convinced us that connection is the biological root of wellbeing. In this training, we will enter deeply into the pedagogy of connection and wellbeing. In the first part of the training, we will explore the pedagogy of the neuro-developmental model that we have spent the past 15 years working with more than 50 mentors and advisors to build. The model has been field-tested with nearly 15,000 participants in 45 countries. We are now applying it in projects with Stanford University Medical School, the United Nations, numerous functional medicine, mental health, and trauma recovery settings. In the second half of the training, we will engage in a number of experiential connection practices and processes.
The training will be held on our 10-acre property near Nicasio, California, in an old-growth Douglas Fir grove that backs up to a 437-acre property and a 320-acre property. At the property we have already encountered nearly fifteen species of plants, insects, birds, and animals that we have not seen elsewhere in Northern California, including giant salamanders, a Golden Eagle, rare orchids, etc.
Conditions on the land are rustic. There is a restroom, our film studio which contains our library, and an outdoor room. There are places to sit and hammocks. In order to be able to comfortably participate, you should be able to walk about a quarter of a mile on relatively flat (no hills) but not even (there are no sidewalks) ground.
All activities during the day will be optional. If you want to spend the entire day in a hammock gazing up at the trees, that's just fine. If you want to engage in restorative movement practice, mindfulness, or dialog that will be available as well.
We will provide water (bring a container), tea, coffee, fruit, and pastries. Please bring a lunch.
