In this collection, Gabriel inquires into the Autonomic Nervous System: the part of us likely to have the greatest shaping force on our lived experience of wellbeing. Most humans understand almost nothing about this system, which is crucial to shaping our moment-to-moment experience of safety or threat, and governs the interior of the body. In a series of reflections, meditations, and deep inquiries, Gabriel translates almost 30 years of studying neuroscience into a love letter to the deep nervous system, helping us to become intimate with the exquisite beauty and nuance of this uniquely mammalian inheritance.
What people are saying:
The book is fantastic 🙂 Thank you very much!!!
I liked very much the pictures, that are informative and connected with other creatures around us. I liked the metaphors used for description of certain processes [metaphors of water, of color theory], which make the material easy to understand. I am a psychotherapist and the theme of 'boundaries' is presented everyday in my practice. I found a new perspective for understanding of boundaries in the book, which is written in a very clear and humanistic way.
