In lieu of teaching a seminar in the spring of 2025, Gabriel will work with a hand-selected group of writers on developing their non-fiction books. This writing group meets every other week on Tuesdays February through mid-May 2025.
Whereas our literary imprint, Jaguar, is moving in the direction of publishing other writers, and whereas we are looking to expand the number of skilled writers writing about connection and Autonomics, this spring we will curate a very focused writing workshop for writers developing non-fiction books aligned with Jaguar's mission and purview.
We are looking for books of high literary merit, written with engaging voice, that elucidate a deepening understanding of the art and science of connection. The books we publish often blend lyricism and science.
In this workshop you will work with a small group of focused fellow developing writers, all of whom are working on a first non-fiction book.
Your homework will be to move your manuscript forward. We will meet every two weeks so that there is time and space for people to work between classes.
You will have a writing partner. You will share your work regularly with the instructor, and the workshop will provide an engaged forum for the study of craft, narrative structure, and deepened literary expression.
We will workshop each text, in an order set early in the workshop. Your workshop will include a representative sample of writing, as well as structural and thematic notes about your book. You will get feedback from a very accomplished and interesting group of fellow writers, in addition to the instructor.
Gabriel will be reviewing and commenting on manuscripts outside of class, helping you to deepen and move your work forward.
