In 1985, John Stokes of The Tracking Project joined forces with Jake Tekaronianeken Swamp, a traditional Ganienkehaga (Mohawk) from Akwesasne, New York, who served as a royaner for the Wolf Clan for thirty years. Jake mentored John in the ways of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy), including the Great Law, the Peacemaker, and the Thanksgiving Address. The Tracking Project, in association with the Tree of Peace Society, have produced an edition of the traditional Iroquois Thanksgiving Address, Greetings to the Natural World.
