This is a brief Distress Assessment based on our research, and that of Dr. Stephen Porges, PhD, to help you determine your primary dis-stress response style. Because different stress (defensive) responses are under-girded by different neural platforms of behavior, they have different expressions, and different needs to return to a baseline of safety and connection. You may have noticed that some people react to stress, change, and unknowns by getting angry, some by getting anxious, and some by shutting down. These responses are generally connected to our earlier experiences in life. Mapping your style can help you both become more aware when you are getting triggered and dys-regulated, as well as find practices for effectively coming back into balance. This is not a diagnostic evaluation, but rather an exploratory visualization tool.
