RETURNS
Our Return policy is differentiated along product lines, so please read this document carefully.
PHYSICAL PRODUCTS
For all physical products, including books and posters, we have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
Items that are print-on-demand, including all of our posters, are not eligible for a return unless damaged. If you receive a poster that is crumpled or damaged in any way, please photograph the damage immediately, and send us a copy of your receipt, as well as photographs of the damage. We will either replace or refund your order, depending on your preference.
For physical products to be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. Please note that if your country of residence is not United States, shipping your goods may take longer than expected.

DIGITAL PRODUCTS
Our digital products include film rentals, online courses, and subscriptions. Digital products are non-returnable. If you purchase a film rental, online self-paced course, or subscription and determine that does not meet your expectations, you may exchange the item for store credit.
If you purchase a rental and are not satisfied with it, you may notify us within 24 hours of purchase for store credit.
For online (self-paced) courses, you may notify us within 7 days of purchase and receive store credit in the amount of your purchase.
Our subscriptions come with a free 7-day trial period. If you cancel after this, you will be billed for that billing period. We do not provide refunds for duplicate or overlapping subscriptions (if, for example, you were to obtain a book subscription and a professional subscription with overlapping content access). We are a small dynamic firm offering complex digital offerings, and we do not have staffing to review each of our client's courses and subscriptions checking for redundancies.
LIVE COURSES (ONLINE AND FACE-TO-FACE)
Live courses (online or face-to-face) are non-refundable. If we (Hearth Science, Inc. Dba Restorative Practices Alliance) offer a course and end up changing or cancelling the course from its published description, you will have the option to continue with the altered course, exchange your course for store credit, or receive a refund. In this case, refunds will be processed within 60 days. We appreciate your patience. We are a small dynamic firm offering complex digital offerings. We are not venture-backed. Our cash flows do not permit instantaneous returns.
If you register for a live course with no pre-requisites, think of this like buying a concert ticket. It is non-refundable. If you discover that you will be unable to attend because of a scheduling conflict, you are welcome to exchange it with someone else if you wish by sending them access credentials (online) or your receipt (face-to-face). We do not get involved in this.
If your application is accepted and you register for a face-to-face course or retreat, either in Northern California or abroad, the registration is non-refundable. We typically book retreats between six month and a calendar year from their occurrence. We do our best to keep courses affordable, and we can only do this if we know the unit economics of our bookings and total attendance. For this reason, if you are accepted into a course and are for some reason unable to attend, we will convert your tuition into credit with us. On rare occasions, where we have a waiting list for a retreat, if we are able to fill the space you have vacated by offering it to someone else we have accepted into the class, we may offer you a refund, but this will be at our discretion.
If you are accepted into a live course, and you do not show up for the course, we will not provide a refund. If you are accepted into a semester-long course, and you miss two consecutive classes at the beginning of a semester without communicating with your instructor prior to your absence, you will forfeit both your tuition and your place in the course.
If you are accepted into a live course, make a deposit to reserve your place in the course, and then change your mind, you will forfeit your deposit.
If you are accepted into a live course, make a deposit to reserve your place in the course, and then fail to pay the balance of course tuition within 45 days without making payment arrangements with us, you will forfeit your place in the course and your deposit.
DAMAGES AND ISSUES
Please inspect physical product orders upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we may evaluate the issue and make it right. Certain types of items cannot be returned, like print-on-demand items that are created for you when you order them. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
EXCHANGES
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
EUROPEAN UNION THREE DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD
Notwithstanding the above, if merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 3 days for any reason and without justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
REFUNDS
For physical products that are returned, we will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return to let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
