If we were being a bit tongue and cheek here, we could show you an illustration of the whole body, because, as we work with pioneers in neuro-fascia, and dermo-neuro-modulation, it becomes clearer and clearer that the Autonomic Nervous System isn't actually only the centrally configured neural structures interior to the body, but that it extends to and through the fascia, and that by way of sub-cutaneous autonomic receptors, actually terminates in the skin. When we traditionally conceptualize the Autonomic System, we are really seeing just the trunk and major branches of the tree, not the finer and finer ramifications, or, to continue the analogy, the leaves, which would really be in the skin. So recognize that what you are seeing here, while elegant, are only the central parts of these structures:
