Don't Drink that Stuff

Don't Drink that Stuff

Wanna feel better? Cut the refined sugar.

Look at how beautiful these people are. Don’t drink that sh*t. Do you know how much sugar there is in one of those little bottles? In our daughter’s pediatrician’s office they have a collection of soda bottles that are filled only with the number of sugar cubes that the drink contains. It’s like 15 cubes. You might as well sit down with a spoon and a bowl of sugar. Sugar is so completely addictive. Just ask any hummingbird. They are, ounce for ounce, the most aggressive creatures on earth. What do they eat all day long? Sugar. You feel me? When refined sugar was brought to uncontacted tribes in the Amazon, they would trade anything for it. It is the addiction sitting right at the center of the culture, in plain view. Do you know how many products you use daily, that are not even sweet, have substantial amounts of sugar in them? Catsup, for example. Do you have any idea how much sugar is in catsup?

Do you want to feel better? Do you want to have more energy? Cut your intake of refined sugar in half. You know the interesting thing? The less sugar you eat, the sweeter what you do eat actually tastes. Your tastebuds recalibrate.

When I stopped eating sugar, I also basically stopped getting sick. Sugar takes your Autonomic Nervous System sympathetic. There are a variety of natural sweeteners with much lower glycemic indexes, such as stevia, that provide sweetness without the addictive or mood-altering properties of refined sugar.
