Get a Plant
{A written practice}
Get a Plant
It will settle you.
Sometimes taking care of something is a good way to learn to take care of yourself. If you are having a hard time taking care of yourself, get a plant, and then do to yourself what you are doing to the plant. To take care of a plant, you need to create a relationship with it. You need to make sure it gets enough light. You need to make sure it gets enough water. And a plant is something that you can learn from pretty much infinitely. It is something that you can carress with your eyes, and unlike a screen, it will soothe your nervous system. We are hard-wired to be settled by plants.
