Indigenous Voices
Re-weaving the original instructions.
Many indigenous cultures that have preserved their ancestral lifeways live in harmony with life's original instructions. These are the universal blueprint for well-being, peace, and harmony with all living things. A profound tragedy of the modern world is its systemic lack of regard for indigenous and ancestral ways of knowing. Because the modern world values what can be quantified, named, and transacted, much of the indigenous knowledge and wisdom, which is the wisdom of relationship with the human, non-human, and more-than-human world has been disregarded. Now, more than ever, we MUST listen to the voices of indigenous people: carriers of the original instructions. It is not an accident that all of our deep nature awareness teachers, be they white or indigenous, were trained by indigenous mentors. Earth-based peoples hold this wisdom of relationship with the living world as core cultural inheritance. They come teaching us to find strength in vulnerability, power in humility, and grace through cooperation.
We are honored to stand in alliance with indigenous elders, mentors, and cultural practitioners from around the world; to serve to amplify their messages of wisdom and heart; and to properly esteem the great gifts of awareness that the are sharing with all of us.
