Hacking the Victory System

What do we mean by a 'victory system'? In our deep explorations of the neurobiology of state, we have come to understand that there is an autonomic gestural repertoire associated with most experiences of state. In this set of exercises, we are tuning into the archetypal motor gestures that most often accompany victory. In developing this catalog we primarily reviewed athletic contests, where participants are already moving, and thus motorically engaged, and therefore disinhibited around spontaneous motor expression. If you begin to study this yourself, you will notice that there is a trans-culturally, and trans-sport consistent set of gestures. This is a catalog of gesture that can be implemented to deepen your visceral experience of feeling victorious.

Please note several things here. First, many of these gestures are symmetrical. Nearly all of them involve the hands, and the arms, and they tend to be upward lifting. If you are practicing these, attend from the inside out, not worrying about how they look, but how they feel from the inside. Allow your focus to be on the feeling of them in the body, and in particular the chest. These are, if you haven't guessed it, directly connected to the heart, and food for your confidence. If you imagine feeling victorious in whatsoever arena of endeavor you are operating in, and then let the movement be the culmination, or expression of how it would feel to experience that moment of culmination, this provides the proper fuel for the experience. For example, if being victorious for you means that you've gotten the new job you want, use imagining receiving that phone call as the mental impetus for allowing the movement through.
